JC Bridging Course (Year 2025)

Many students experience a significant drop in their results during their first year in junior college as they struggle to keep up and adapt to the new academic demands and fast-paced rigour of the curriculum. Apart from academics, the widely implemented lecture-tutorial system, which aims to encourage independent learning, can also be a major adjustment. Those who have excelled previously may also find themselves struggling if they are unprepared for these drastic changes or are unable to transition to the new environment seamlessly.

This upcoming holiday, give your child a head start and build a strong foundation early. Get them familiar with the new content and must-know skills that will provide them with the upper hand to begin their next academic endeavour with confidence.

JC H2 Maths

The JC H2 Math Bridging Course is designed for students who have just completed their O-Level examinations and are preparing to embark on their Junior College journey. This one-week programme provides a structured introduction to key H2 Mathematics topics, helping students build a strong conceptual foundation before the school term begins.

Throughout the course, students will gain early exposure to essential JC concepts while reinforcing their understanding of mathematical reasoning and application. Lessons are conducted in a step-by-step manner to ensure clarity and confidence as students transition to a higher level of mathematical rigor.

1) Transformation of Curves

  • Students will explore how graphs are affected by translation, reflection, and scaling. They will also learn to interpret modulus graphs and utilise the graphing calculator (GC) effectively to visualise transformations

2) Functions

  • This topic introduces the concepts of one-to-one and many-to-one functions. Students will also learn about inverse, composite, and periodic functions — all of which form the foundation of H2 Mathematics.

3) Equations and Inequalities

  • Students will revisit quadratic equations and extend their understanding to solving systems of linear equations and inequalities. This topic strengthens algebraic fluency and prepares students for more advanced problem-solving in JC.

By the end of the programme, students will have a clearer understanding of what to expect in JC H2 Mathematics and will find the transition smoother and less overwhelming. Enrolment is limited to ensure personalised guidance and effective learning. We encourage interested students to register early to secure a slot.

JC Chemistry

Master the H2 Chemistry Prerequisites!

This course is designed to review the foundational topics for H2 Chemistry. We will be utilizing challenging, higher-order thinking questions to ensure our students are fully prepared.

Why is this course crucial?

While these topics are prerequisites for the H2 curriculum, many schools skip the entirely, expecting students to independently bridge the knowledge gap between O Level/IP Chemistry and the advanced demands of H2 Chemistry.
