GP Tuition
Despite being an H1 subject, General Paper (GP) is notoriously rigorous and demanding. It can be frustrating to some students because it is one of those subjects that students either get or don't. Logic is the cornerstone of doing well in the essay component of the paper. Students are required to keep up with both local and international affairs and then put this real-world knowledge into their writing. In essence, GP tests on the student’s ability to connect the dots of what they have read and their ability to synthesise ideas and reasons, instead of simple regurgitation of facts.
At Our Learning Lodge, we offer personalised attention, which allows students to clarify doubts and gain a better understanding of the material. We complement the lecture and tutorial style learning that is adopted in junior colleges by offering a structured curriculum.

Tackling Application Question (AQ)
Teaching Methodology at OLL
We aim to hone critical and analytical skills and thinking outside the box.
1. Coverage of High Frequency GP Topics
Our teachers equip students with the skills to analyse essay topics from multiple perspectives, enabling them to consider issues as various stakeholders. This allows them to address question demands accurately and develop well-balanced arguments that meet examination criteria. As a result, students gain confidence in writing stronger essays.
2. Content Analysis
Students are taught to read between the lines and understand texts beyond surface-level meaning. We instill the habit of purposeful and discerning reading which will enable students to identify loopholes in arguments, recognise biases in texts, and infer implied meanings. These critical reading skills are essential for tackling comprehension components effectively.
3. Curated Learning
At Our Learning Lodge, our teachers take the time to understand each student’s learning needs. Lessons are crafted to accommodate every learning style, and we aim to provide targeted support that helps students strengthen key skills to achieve steady progress.
4. Conducive Learning Environment
We aim to support and challenge students to have a positive attitude towards learning. At Our Learning Lodge, our teachers strive to clear up all uncertainty because every question is an opportunity to bridge the student's knowledge gap.
