P6 Camp (March)

If your child has not geared up for PSLE, it is time to start today. The school year has just started and many students are feeling the same things right now. They are confused, frustrated and scared about the PSLE. They are being introduced to new topics in P6 and they would need to delve into revision mode soon. P6 March Camp is here to help them to strike a balance between learning new concepts and skills while mastering the concepts taught previously

 

 

English

The English language contains strict rules hence a systematic approach to every component is introduced to our students with an in-depth review of questions in order to derive the perfect answers.  

 

  • Day 1: Grammar - 8 tenses, determiners and Subject Verb Agreement - Identify clues and keywords with clear, annotated explanations to obtain answers  

 

  • Day 2: Vocabulary and Cloze Focus: - Tackle different but close definitions of words. - Learn the skill of annotation and sourcing for clues to tackle the Cloze Passages.  

 

  • Day 3: Synthesis - Step-by-step exclusive method for structuring sentences with proper techniques such as learning different word classes to tackle a wide range of synthesis question types. - e.g. Personal/Impersonal Constructions

 

  • Day 4: Creative Writing - Learn how to craft a developed story to engage a reader with a solid framework and the right tone usage for certain formats.

 

  • Day 5: Comprehension Vocabulary and Cloze Focus: - Analyse passage, learn to read between the lines for inferential questions and strategies to answer different types of questions

 

 

Maths

In the 5 days of P6 Maths Camp, we will be recapping all Must-Know problem-solving concepts that will be tested in the PSLE and reinforce the new P6 topics to give students the headstart for the PSLE this year. 

 

  • Day 1: Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions - Grouping, Assumption, Equal Numerator and Branching 

 

  • Day 2: Ratio and Percentage  - Internal Transfer, One-Unchanged, Constant Difference, Discount, GST, Profit

 

  • Day 3: Algebra and Pie Chart  - More than / less than, Multiples and Stacking Approach, Pie Chart (Fractions, Percentage and Angles)

 

  • Day 4 : Geometry and Mensuration - Properties of Angles, Triangles and Quadilaterals , Area and Perimeter of Circles, Volume and Nets

 

  • Day 5 : Speed  - Distance, Speed, Time and Average Speed, Same Direction (Catching up), Opposite Direction  

 

Science

The P6 Science Camp covers revision of major topics learned in P5 and P6. Students will attempt related practice questions and daily topical tests. This course will help P6 students consolidate knowledge learned in P5 and P6, thereby strengthening their foundation in Science. Here are the topics covered in the camp:

 

  • Cycles
    • Reproduction in Plants & Humans, Changes in States of Water and Water Cycle

 

  • Systems
    • Air & the Human Respiratory System, Human Circulatory System, Plant Transport System, Electrical Systems

 

  • Interactions
    • Forces, Living Together, Food Chains & Food Webs, Adaptations

 

  • Energy
    • Energy in Food, Forms and Conversions of Energy
